Class Details
Learn to transform wool from fibery fluff into handmade yarn in this hands-on workshop with fiber artist Riley Kleve. You'll learn the fundamentals of spinning yarn using a drop spindle, a super simple tool that humans have used for thousands of years. We'll cover the basics of spinning woold fibers, drafting fiber to create thick or thin yarn, and how to finish your yarn by plying it. You'll leave class with a small skein of yarn that you made, ready to use in your next crochet, knitting, or weaving project.
All materials will be provided, and no prior experience spinning is necessary.
A materials fee of $10 is payable to the instructor during class and covers fiber and handouts.
